DB-ALM publishes new information
It’s our pleasure to inform you that further information sheets have been finalised by the DB-ALM and its collaborators and are now available online for the topic area of: Hepatotoxicity/metabolism-mediated toxicity
The following descriptions of in-vitro techniques using the below listed experimental systems have been either updated or newly added to the DB-ALM info content. They include information on their objectives & applications, rationale, basic procedure and status of development and/or validation and all are based on extensive literature reviews. For each technique related information is also provided.

  • Co-culture of primary hepatocytes with another cell type – Summary
  • Genomics technology to investigate hepatotoxicity in vitro – Summary
  • Hepatocyte cultures on biosensor systems – Summary
  • Monolayer culture of genetically engineered liver cell lines – Summary

  • Perfused three-dimensional culture systems ( bioreactors) with liver cells – Summary

Now, for the above topic area the DB-ALM provides 23 new and/or updated information sheeets on-line on in vitro techniques toghether with more than 4175 test results.

If you have not yet taken the opportunity to access the data sector of : “Persons & Institutions active in the Field of Alternative Methods." we wish to remind you that you can view the above information via the “In Vitro Methods" search option from the top menu bar.

The current data sector includes all persons which have recently confirmed/updated their data upon our request, in addition to the contact details available for the INVITTOX protocols.

We further wish to inform you that, in the future, we will contact all persons every 2 years in an automatic manner to verify and/or review their data. Those who don't reply after two reminders we will have to remove from the directory.

To extend the availability of information on persons/institutions active in the animal alternatives field ("Who's who"), we invite you to send us a short alert to dbalm-contact@jrc.it stating your wish to become part of this service.
