Welcome
Sos ry briefly
SOS ry is a student organisation for students studying Social Policy and Social Work at the University of Tampere.
Being a student organisation SOS ry looks after the interests of its students. The organisation has an important role in conveying information and opinions from students to the departments of Social Research and Social Work Research through co-operation with the departments. We also co-operate in various ways with Tamy, the Student Union of Tampere University, and with other student organisations.
SOS ry also takes care of students´ leisure time activities. We arrange all sorts of activities like parties, sauna evenings, cultural happenings, sports and theme evenings - basically anything that people want to do. After all, life is a lot more than studies!
Through SOS ry you can meet Finnish students and spend time and get to know people, who are studying the same subject that you are. Hopefully you can find them somewhat similar minded with you or at least have heated discussions about those things you are looking from a different point of view. Participating in the activities of student organisations is really the best way to get to know your fellow students.
How to participate?
You can find information about our activities from our web pages, like you have probably already noticed. Despite the native language being Finnish, we do our best in providing relevant information also in English.
Here is contact information of some people you can always reach to in questions concerning SOS ry. So whether you would like to know more about what is going on in SOS ry or have some suggestions for us, don´t be afraid to take contact.
