Is the time allowed for completion of your degree running out?

In the course of your studies it is advisable to take an occasional look at NettiOpsu to check the information concerning your own study right.  The time allowed for the completion of your degree is displayed on the NettiOpsu page entitled Personal Data under Rights to Study Granted as Follows. 

You can also ask about the time for completing your degree at the Registrar's office.

What should I do if the time is running out?

If the deadline for completion is very close you can apply for an extension in order to complete your studies.  This means that you must submit a feasible plan for the completion of your studies to your School before the time runs out.  Those students whose right to complete their degrees expires at the end of July should apply for more time not later than the middle of April.

The time limitations for the completion of degree are stipulated in the Universities Act

The time limitations for the completion of degrees are stipulated in the Universities Act.

If a student has not completed his/her degree within the stipulated time s/he loses the right to study.  The limitations apply to rights to study for lower and higher degrees when the study rights commenced on or after 1 August 2005.
