Public financial management and sustainable development

This research stream explores questions of sustainable development in the various sub-fields of public financial management. Issues of interest comprise for example:

  • social and environmental accounting, reporting and assurance in public sector organizations
  • the role of sustainable development in the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises
  • responsible investment in the context of public sector financing and pension funds
  • social and ecological criteria in public procurement
  • consideration of ethical aspects in legislation and regulation

A cross-disciplinary research theme focuses on counter accounts of unethically performing organizations as a form of influencing political decision-making.
