Working life partnerships & Internships

Matching education with the requirements of today's working life is one of the core values of the Leadership for Change programme.

The programme has a set of partners representing various private and public organizations. The partners take an active part in the development and implementation of the programme.

During their studies, students have a chance to interact with the partners on and off campus as well as to conduct real-life projects with them. For example, a working life partner can assign a practical problem related to its operations to a group of students and the students undertake research to solve the problem as part of their studies or in their master's theses.

For its working life partners, the Leadership for Change master's programme offers an opportunity to participate in the development of the skills of their potential future employees, to establish international networks and to hear fresh ideas.

Collaboration between our master's students and working life partners can also take the form of internships. Alongside the taught modules, an internship can be included in the degree's free choice studies section.

Internship grants in the Faculty of Management

  • The Faculty offers a limited number of grants for internships. Financial support from the university, paid to the employer, is 1800 euros (in 2017). The financial support is primarily given to those students with no previous work experience in their field of study and to those who have a compulsory practical training in their degree programme.

  • The employer must be Finnish, but it can also be located abroad. Thus international organisations are not accepted. The employer can be at the public sector, private enterprise or organisation.

  • The student must always discuss beforehand with his/her supervising professor about the intended internship and its suitability to the programme

  • Application period for the financial support is from mid-December to January. After receiving the possibility for financial support the student is responsible for finding a suitable internship place.
