Master's Programme in Russian and European Studies

Exchanges

RES programme is organised in cooperation with two Russian partner universities, and is therefore inherently international. In addition to this, we want to encourage students to include a period of exchange in a Russian university in their Master's studies. Exchange students in the University's partner universities do not need to pay tuition fees and they can also apply for a grant from the University of Tampere to cover some of the costs of the exchange. See more on possibilities and application periods in Where to go? Study Abroad pages.

RES programme's partner exchanges

In addition to applying for the exchange possibilities offered for students studying in all programmes at UTA, starting from 2015-2016 the RES degree students in international relations may apply for FIRST exchange (Finnish-Russian Student Exchange Programme) in one of the partner universities and receive a monthly FIRST grant. Funding for the FIRST network 'Cross-Border International Relations' for the academic year 2016-2017 will be confirmed in late spring 2016.

Petrozavodsk State University

St. Petersburg State University

The students apply to the RES partner exchange the same way and at the same time as to the other exchanges, by filling in the application form in NettiOpsu in the section International exchanges. Please note that 'Cross-Border International Relations' is one choice as such in the online application (XX FIRSTCBIR) and in your motivation letter you can then specify to which of the Russian universities you wish to apply to (Petrozavodsk/St Petersburg). Please write your motivation letter in English. Contact programme coordinator Anna Wansén-Kaseva in any questions on the FIRST network 'Cross-Border International Relations'.

Please note that UTA also has a university-level FIRST network with the same exchange partners, and when applying for an exchange via both networks, the two FIRST networks are two different choice options and need two different motivation letters. University-level FIRST network is coordinated by coordinator of international education Ms Sari Hyttinen.
