Books

The collections of the Tampere University Library are free to use for all. The collections comprise approximately 490 000 volumes of printed books and 350 000 volumes of electronic books on all disciplines of the University. The bibliographic information on both printed and electronic books is included in the Tamcat database.

The collections of printed books are located in the Main Library, in the Department Library of Humanities and Education (Humanika), in the Department Library of Health Sciences (Tertio) and in the Unit in Hämeenlinna (HOKL). The books are placed on open shelves on several floors and in storage areas.

The books weeded from collections are for sale on the first floor of the Main Library in the Linna-building. The books can be purchased during Circulation Office service hours. The withdrawn books in Tertio can be purchased at the circulation desk (see Opening hours and the contact information of Tertio).
