Tampere University Library Strategy 2010-2015

Mission

Tampere University Library is a part of an international research university.  The Library supports the University’s goals by providing information, teaching and publishing services to researchers, teachers, students and University Hospital personnel as well as to other scientific information seekers.  The Library develops its services emphasizing customer orientation as a part of the national and international research library network.

 

Vision

Tampere University Library is well-known as a reliable supplier of scientific information and as an authority.  The Library actively promotes open access to information, fulfills the changing information needs of its users and offers an inspiring working environment.

  • The Library develops a robust study environment by offering up-to-date, welcoming, functional and disabled friendly premises and technologically advanced equipment, which make the effective studying and learning possible in areas meant for both silent and team work.
  • The Library develops and offers personalised virtual and mobile services for studying.
  • The Library offers study and learning support for groups and individual patrons by connecting information literacy with the different forms and processes of higher education.
