
The remote access of electronic resources works via shibboleth-based user identification in the Nelli portal.
Remote access is allowed for researchers, staff and regular students of the University of Tampere using a Basic User Account and password.
The username and password may be obtained from the IT services of the Tampere University.
The electronic resources acquired by the library are mainly to be used within the university network and Tampere University Hospital (working with IP identification). The electronic resources , e-journals and internet databases can be accessed using any computer within the university network, including computer classrooms and staff offices.
You may use the remote service for personal study and research purposes only. All other use, such as commercial or business-oriented use is strictly prohibited.
We recommend that you open the remote connection from your personal computer only. If you must use a public computer - e.g. in a public library or Internet café - please clear the cache memory in the web browser and close the browser after finishing your work.
Some of the material have been acquired via the FinElib National Electronic Library Acquisition Consortia, except some resources, which have been acquired by the library independently. The terms and conditions are determined in the terms of agreement for each resource. All customers are obliged to follow these terms and conditions. General terms and conditions for using electronic resources are listed below:
You are allowed to:
Browse databases and conduct information searches
Print a reasonable amount of search results on paper for your personal use
Save a reasonable amount of search results on hard disk, floppy disk or USB-memory stick for your personal use
Save a reasonable fraction or a part of electronic book or other electronic resource or some electronic full text articles for non-commercial use
To send one copy of an article via e-mail, regular mail or fax to another person for his/her personal use only.
To create course material for Tampere University courses for non-commercial use (the conditions may vary according to the database service used)
You are NOT allowed to:
use electronic material or any part of it for commercial usecopy or print entire e-books or large entity of full-text resources
download resources using automatic search engines
