You can make a request yourself in library database Tamcat. Short loans of textbooks, overnight and weekend loans from the reference collection or iPad's cannot be requested.
When the requested item becomes available the customer receives an item available notice about the pickup point and the last pickup date. Normally the time for picking up is one week. In the library the available requested items are on the shelf for reserved books, beside the Customer Service desk. You can find your request on the shelf under your family name and borrow it using the self-service machine.
Item available notice is sent either by e-mail or by regular mail according to the contact information the customer has given to the library. Notices are not sent out during weekends or weekday holidays; e.g. if the requested book becomes available on Friday the customer will be notified the following Monday.
If the requested items are in Linna's closed storage they will be available to the customer the following weekday. It is also possible to request items held at the other library office. These requests incur a fee.
The status of the request can be seen in Tamcat in real time.
