Student card as a library card

The barcode behind the student card, beginning with numbers 256, can be activated to be used as a library card in the Tampere University Library.

The activation process goes as follows:
● Bring your student card (with the barcode) and an official proof of identity with a picture on it to the Main Library or one of the department libraries.
● Fill out the new patron form in the library or use the online form on the library website.
● Your student card will be activated either while you are waiting or by the next day (during the busy time in the autumn)
● Once your student card has been activated as a library card you will receive the rules regarding the use of the library and your library card. It is advisable to read these through carefully.

If your student card is lost or stolen, please notify the library immediately. Also please kindly notify the library about change of name, address or e-mail address.
