The Tampere University Press (TUP) was established in 1994. It publishes dissertations, and other kinds of academic publications from various fields of study. Annually, approximately a hundred dissertations and some twenty other academic publications are published. The dissertations mainly belong to the Acta Universitatis Tamperensis Series.

Books by the Tampere University Press are sold at the TAJU bookstore, which is the publisher’s own academic bookstore, located in Linna-Building on the Tampere University's campus. Books can also be ordered from the TAJU bookstore or using the online shop Granum.

There is also open access to the Tampere University dissertations online, as well as other kinds of academic publications, which are freely available from the Tampub database. The e-books that are for sale can be found in Ellibs.
