The Department of History is one of the leading institutions for historical research in Finland. On this page you will find information on our main areas of expertise, research projects and publications. Members of the staff can be contacted through the Staff page.

Our Main Expertise

Furthermore, the Department of History has recently expanded research in the history of the Baltic Sea regions in the early modern period (1400-1800). In addition to that, we have an international Master's programme Gender and Economic Development, which focuses on the early modern period and modern history.
