The Structure of the Degree

StudentsAmong the degree programme in Education, students can choose either Adult Education or Education as their main subject. However, the two subjects have common basic studies. The degree programme offered by the Department is characterized by a significant amount of choice and students can determine the content of their degree and the profile of their expertise. In addition, minor subjects can be chosen from a range of options. Studies in the main subject account for almost half of the total number of credits. Minor subjects can be chosen relatively freely from the other faculties of the University. This makes it possible for students to develop their special preferences and strengths. In view to job qualifications and prospects for post-graduate studies it is useful also to study minor subjects fairly extensively (for example 25 or 60  ECTS credits). Studies completed at other universities or abroad can be incorporated into the degree.
