LabourNet

The Finnish Doctoral Program on Labour and Welfare Studies, LabourNet, aims at optimizing education in the fields of labour market and welfare issues. LabourNet has been operating since 2003 and is currently funded by the Ministry of Education and the Academy of Finland .

We ensure a high level of international academia by running regular courses in cooperation with our partners and collaborating institutes, and by offering high quality steady supervision to students whose work supports the aims of the graduate school. We aim to increase the number of foreign student members as the school matures - at present they comprise one fifth of the total membership and we are aiming for one third.

The LabourNet offers a full training program that supports its members in graduating with licentiate and doctoral degrees within the social sciences. The training program is organized in cooperation with the Universities of Helsinki, Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kuopio , Lappland, Tampere and Turku , as well as with partner universities and institutes throughout Europe . Our approach to training and supervision is multidimensional and we promote both virtual, via the Moodle, and face-to-face interaction.

The Doctoral Program is headed by Professor Pertti Koistinen, University of Tampere, Tampere and Professor Satu Kalliola, University of Tampere, Pori. Contact:In case that you need more detailed information, please, write either to Tiina Ristikari (tiina.ristikari(at)uta.fi), who is students representant in steering committee and helps in coordination.
