IN FINNISH
This development project aims at diffusing good practices of gender equality planning in small and medium-sized businesses in Tampere Region. So far gender equality plans have been more common in large businesses and in the public sector in Finland. The second central aim is to produce knowledge of gender equality planning as a process and an outcome in small and medium-sized businesses.

Through the process of gender equality planning, workplaces can create space for diverse skills, communication and change. By taking a gender sensitive perspective workplaces can improve their working environment and help employees in balancing work and family life.

The Tapiiri project collaborates with 14 private sector workplaces in Tampere Region. The development project consists of joint seminars and visits to the workplaces. The structure and contents are planned and carried out by the project researchers and are based on their previous, extensive experience on gender equality planning processes.

Tapiiri is financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Employment and Economic Development Center for Pirkanmaa (TE).
