
All of the foreign language studies in the School of Language, Translation and Literary Studies (LTL) are intended for a language proficiency level of ~B2-C1 (CEFR). Beginner-level courses are offered only in Czech and Estonian. Other beginner-level language courses are offered by the Language Centre, an independent institute of the University of Tampere.
International exchange students who have been accepted to study at the University of Tampere may choose courses from any programme or study module taught in the School of Language, Translation and Literary Studies as long as
(a) the course is open to international students,
(b) they have sufficient academic knowledge to study the subject concerned,
(c) there are enough places in each group or course, and
(d) they pass a possible skills test which certain programmes arrange at the beginning of each semester. Please see the Skills tests page!
