Mechanotransduction and the Cell Niche Symposium 2017

MECHANOTRANSDUCTION & THE CELL NICHE SYMPOSIUM 2017

Thursday 15th & Friday 16th June 2017

Faculty of Medicine & Life Sciences, University of Tampere

Address: Arvo F211, Lääkärinkatu 1, 33520 Tampere, Finland

This biannual Symposium brings together researchers from diverse but inter-related fields, Including stem cell biologists, biophysicists biomaterials scientists, to discuss the use of biomaterials to create artificial cell niches That mimic the extracellular matrix. Such materials enable us to study how the mechanical and biochemical characteristics of the matrix Influence cellular behaviors via mechanotransduction, Including cell-matrix adhesion, migration and differentiation. These Understanding Fundamental biological processes in the Greater detail is essential for the future development of regenerative therapies and disease models.

Click on the left menu bar to view the full program and register (deadline 8th June), or download the schedule here .

The symposium is hosted by Dr. Nick J Walters and generously sponsored by the Faculty of Medicine & Life Sciences , University of Tampere . We discuss recent developments and future outlooks Relating to the field, as well as challenges we have faced and results we have Achieved in developing materials and analyzing cell-matrix interactions. The symposium is open for anyone to attend, with a small registration fee of € 25.

Please do not hesitate to contact Nick at nick.walters@uta.fi if you have any questions.

We are pleased to announce that this event is a satellite symposium of EMBEC'17 / NBC'17, the joint conference of European Medical & Biological Engineering Conference (EMBEC) and the Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering & Medical Physics. The conference takes place is the 11th–15th June in Tampere Hall.Stefan W. Hell, Gordon G. Wallace, Manuel Bardies, Risto Ilmoniemi, Serge Mordon, Jukka-Pekka Onnela, Molly M.
