Pain research:

-Acute and persistent pain after surgery and postoperative nausea and vomiting
-Pain during and after intensive care
-local interventional treatment for the Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

In addition to post-graduate Doctoral Thesis research projects Advanced Study projects for medical students (year class two to five) will be available.

Critical care:
- neuro critical care
- severe sepsis
- anticoagulation and coagulation disorders
- MET (medical emergency team) and it´s influence on the need for intensive care and the incidence of in-hospital sudden cardiac arrest
- resuscitation studies, in which the quality of resuscitation procedures and the influence of the early temperature control are assessed

-The structure and quality of emergency medical service systems

Anaesthesia for joint replacement surgery (Coxa Ltd., Hospital for Joint Replacement):
- pain management
- reduction and treatment of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV)
- thermoregulation during joint replacement surgery
- enhanced/rapid recovery

Besides Advanced Study projects for medical students (year class two to five), also Doctoral Thesis research projects, lasting three to five years, will be conducted upon consideration between the potential research partners.
