Professor Pirkko Pitkänen, Department of Education, has been nominated by the European Commission as a member of an international ad hoc academic expert group.
Four renowned academics from India and four from the EU countries have been invited to present their views on the India-EU Mobility Partnership; to present their views on the structure such partnership would preferably have; and to identify recommendations for further work relevant for establishing and implementation the India-EU partnership, including detailed recommendations for further academic work. The ad hoc working group is requested to present its recommendations by 30 September 2009.

Study programme LOGope 2009-2010

Department of Education (University of Tampere), the Vocational Teacher Education Unit at HAMK University of Applied Sciences (Hämeenlinna) and Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences have planned  study modules  in the field of multicultural teaching and intercultural communication. The modules provide a platform for face-to-face and online discussions, which DeMI researchers will participate in as trainers. The modules are targeted for vocational teachers in Health Care and Social Services.
