DOCTORAL CONFERMENT CEREMONY 2010

The Faculties of Economics and Administration, of Humanities and of Information Sciences at the University of Tampere will jointly hold a Doctoral Conferment Ceremony on Friday 21 May 2010.

All those who have defended their doctoral dissertation at these Faculties, and who have not taken part in an earlier Doctoral Conferment Ceremony arranged by their own discipline of the University of Tampere may participate in the Ceremony to be held in 2010. There will also be a number of honorary doctorates of each Faculty conferred at the Ceremony.

The festivities will include, in addition to the actual Degree Ceremony itself on May 21st, the Sword-Whetting on Thursday May 20th, a church service, and the Banquet and Ball on the Friday, and the Lake Cruise on Saturday May 22nd.

The fee for participating in the festivities is 350 per person. In addition, the participants are required to acquire at their own expense among other things their Doctor's Hat, their sword, and appropriate dress for the various functions.
