Professor Armando Malheiro da Silva was born in Braga in 1957. He graduated in Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy of Braga's Portuguese Catholic University in History and the Faculty of Arts, University of Porto. He obtained a degree in librarian-archivist of the Faculty of Arts, University of Coimbra, and in 1999 became a PhD in Modern History at the University of Minho. He is an associate professor in the degree of Information Science, Department of Journalism and Communication Sciences School of Arts, University of Porto. Has shared his research and publications by Information Science, Politics and the History of Ideologies in Portugal in secs. XIX-XX, the Social History and Family and the Local Studies.
