Studies started before 2012 and in 2012-2013

NB: From 1 August 2015 all students take studies in the new degree programmes introduced in 2012. This info page is no longer updated

UTA renewed all its degree programmes from 1 August 2012. On this page you will find information that is relevant to students who started their degree studies at SIS before 1 August 2012. These students are here referred to as 'old students', and the degree programmes given before 2012 as 'old programmes'.

The main impact of the UTA educational reform concerns UTA Bachelor's degrees. As SIS does not offer any Bachelor's degree programmes in English, the UTA educational reform has a limited impact on our international students.

The following changes, however, affecting also Master's degree students have taken place:

  • All old SIS Master programmes (Interactive Technology, Software Development and User Interface Software Development) will end on 31 July 2015
  • There is a transition period during 1 August 2012 - 31 July 2015. During this time old students may continue their studies in the old programme and graduate from the old programme, or they may transfer to study in the corresponding new degree programme. For transferring see the instructions below.
  • Old students use the old Study Guide regarding the structure of their degree, but the taught courses offered are given according to the new Study Guide 2012-15.

Old students should contact their Master programme tutor teacher to update their HOPS study plan.

Transferring to a new degree programme

Transferring is possible from September 2012 and the process is started in NettiOpsu. Information on this is availabe on the UTA site.
