Students wanting to graduate must fill in and submit an application form for a degree diploma to the School Office (Ms. Minna Heinonen, Pinni B1058).
Application form is available on the Forms page. Students graduating from the computer sciences programmes should first check the CS page on Master's thesis process and graduation.
The deadline for handing in the graduation application form (students wanting to graduate during the spring term 2013) is 7 June 2013. This date is also the deadline for submitting the maturity test to the UTA Language Center.
You can submit the application for the degree diploma even if all the studies have not yet been registered in the UTA study register. However, when handing in the application please give details on which course units have not been registered.
Before applying, please ask for the final grade from your major subject. Likewise you should ask for a final grade for any minor subject which you have studied 15 ECTS or more.
When applying for the degree diploma, please notice that you may register absent for the term when you make the application only if all the studies taken have been registered in the UTA study register (for example, all the studies have been registered in December and you intend to graduate in early January). If any of the studies - including the thesis - has not been taken into the study register, you must register as present for the term and thus pay the Tamy fee, too, for the term.
It takes about two weeks to get the degree diploma. In summer, the process takes longer due to vacations.
Bachelor and Master graduates are automatically given together with the diploma and final transcript also a Diploma Supplement in English.
For information on how graduation affects your rights to use Tamy and University Library services etc. please see the UTA Graduation page.
More information on graduation from Minna Heinonen.
The UTA graduation ceremony celebrating new graduates is held at the end of each term. The next ceremony will take place on 14 June 2013. The ceremony is optional, and no diplomas are handed to the graduates during the ceremony.
The degree diploma application is to be submitted in one week before the ceremony at the latest, and the graduate can choose whether to pick up the diploma at the Registrar's Office or to have it sent to the home address.
After finishing the doctoral studies, you must make an application for your doctoral diploma. Please fill in and submit an application form for a degree diploma to the School Office (Ms. Sivi Aalto). Application form is available on the Forms page.
More information from Sivi Aalto.
After finishing the Master's degree, it is possible to apply for supplementing studies. More information on Supplementing studies page.
