PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences

Pirkanmaan ammattikorkeakoulu, Pirkanmaa University of Applied Sciences (PIRAMK) is a regional, multidisciplinary, service sector-oriented higher education institution. It operates in four locations within the Tampere Region: in the City of Tampere and in the towns of Ikaalinen, Mänttä and Virrat.

PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences provides two Master-level degrees of  90 credits (2 years) and 17 Bachelor-level degrees of 210-270 credits (3,5-4,5 years) in 6 fields of study. Three degree programmes are studied entirely in English and all other degree programmes offer tailor-made courses in English. The main language of instruction is Finnish.

PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences has more than 4000 student of which international students about 100. The academic year is divided into two semesters; the autumn semester from September until the end of December and the spring semester from January until May.

PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences has high quality IT and library facilities which enable open learning environments. The education is implemented in close cooperation with working life which offers the opportunity to complete a thesis and/or on-the-job training in private companies and public organisations, also in English.

PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences is very active in international cooperation. The most important form of activity is mobility of students, trainees and teachers. The institution has more than 150 higher education partner institutions in almost 30 countries in Europe, Asia, South-America and Africa. Pirkanmaa Polytechnic also participates in several research, development and educational projects worldwide.
