If you are an already-admitted student, i.e. a student who has started studies before 1 August 2012, you may either complete your studies under the old scheme (this option is available until 31 July 2015), or you can transfer to the new study programme that corresponds to your old major. Following the old scheme means that you will graduate with a single major, not from a degree programme.
In any case, all students – both new and already-admitted – will follow the same curriculum guides and teaching schedules as of Autumn 2012.
If you move to the new system, the details of your right to study will change accordingly. Please note that if you wish to earn only your Master's degree under the new scheme, you must first complete your Bachelor's degree by satisfying the old scheme's requirements. If you have already taken all the courses, etc. required for your Master's degree under the old scheme, it is not advisable to transfer to the new programme system.
If you decide to transfer to the new system, the details of your current right to study will determine the details of your new right to study. Your school will determine which rights to study correspond to each other. If you are not sure of the details of your current right to study, you can check them online on NettiOpsu.
Your current right to study will determine the programme you will transfer to. If you have the right to study towards several different degrees, you must clearly state which degrees you wish to transfer to the new system for: if you wish, you can transfer to the new scheme for some of them and leave the rest unchanged.
If NettiOpsu doesn't suggest a programme for you but you wish to transfer to the new scheme anyway, please contact the Head of Study Affairs in your School to find out how you can apply for a transfer.
