This information is intended only for students taking basic degrees (Bachelor's and Master's degrees) at the University of Tampere.
Information for postgraduate students can be found on the pages of University of Tampere Doctoral School.
These scholarships are intended for students registered on basic degree programmes at the University of Tampere. The scholarships can be applied for in order to attend a foreign university or undertake unpaid practical training. Applications can be submitted throughout the academic year.
The studies or training involved must form a part of the student's degree programme in order for the student to be eligible for the scholarship. The minimum duration of the study or placement period is three months. If the period is less than three months, the student is not eligible for the grant. The amount of the grant is dependent on the country of destination.
The University will not grant scholarships for study places arranged by commercial organizations (e.g. Asian Exchange). Students selected on an exchange programme under the University's existing exchange agreements (see Partner Universities of the University of Tampere ) will receive a travel grant automatically and need not apply for a scholarship separately. Those selected under ERASMUS or NORDPLUS agreements will receive a programme-specific grant.
If a student has already received a scholarship (incl. ERASMUS and NORDPLUS grant) during their studies, the travel grant can only be given on solid grounds. In such a case, the scholarship will not be granted in full, and the student should enclose a written statement on the necessity of the studies abroad in relation to his/her degree. The scholarship will not be granted for one student in consequent semesters or for the same destination.
After the exchange or placement period, the beneficiary must compile a travel report for the International Office that describes and evaluates the studies or training abroad.
