The decision-making bodies of the faculty are the Faculty Council and the Dean who is the chair of the council. Professor Lauri Hella has been Dean from September 2009. Professor Reijo Savolainen is Vice-Dean and professor Veikko Surakka second Vice-Dean. A list of the members of the Faculty Council is available in the Faculty Office and online here.
The Head of Faculty Administration and the Head of Study Affairs of the faculty prepare the issues discussed in the meetings of the Faculty Council and the issues which are decided on by the Dean.
The minutes of the Faculty Council meetings (in Finnish) can be seen on the notice boards of the departments and the faculty, and in the Faculty Office. A personal letter (in English if needed) is used to convey information on decisions concerning an individual student, but the fastest way to get information on the decision is to contact the Faculty Office. English can be used in all correspondence with the Faculty Office.
