Research and teaching in the Faculty are intended to respond to the increasing demands for information technology in today's society. The Faculty offers teaching and engages in research on the development of new technology and information services based on research findings. Research conducted at the departments of the Faculty focuses on the methods and techniques of information organization, processing and use. The research conducted in the Faculty has been evaluated by two external assessments:
In 2007 Computer Sciences research in Finland was assessed by an international group of experts for the Academy of Finland.
