Admissions

Admission to Master studies

The next deadline will be on 1 February 2011. We have one intake per year. Students selected in Spring 2011 will be starting their studies at UTA in late August 2011.

Please notice that from 1 January 2011 the organisational structure of the University of Tampere will change. Faculties and departments will merge to form new Schools. The Computer Science and Interactive Technology Master programmes will be offered by the new School of Information Sciences (working title). The name of the School will be decided in early January at the latest.

Information on the programmes offered is available via a link on the left panel.

Please notice that we do not assess applicants' educational backgrounds outside the application period. We trust that applicants familiarise themselves with the offered programmes and their requirements, and compare these with their educational background and qualifications.

After the application deadline the application documents are preprocessed and verified by University Admissions Finland (UAF). After this, the applications are sent to us and the academic qualifications of the applicants are assessed by the programme teachers, making comparisons between applicants possible.

Applicants from polytechnic level institutions (e.g. Finnish AMK polytechnics or universities of applied science), if successful, are requested to take some complementing studies (a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 60 ECTS credits) after arriving at UTA.

Finnish applicants should notice that the same Master's programmes are offered also in Finnish. Please see UTA page here for more information (in Finnish).
