The project is divided into two subprojects: 1) the relation of firms' innovation activities and their regional environments and 2) regional innovation networks as a social phenomenon. Central to both of the studies are the concepts of innovation system and social capital within the context of evolutionary theory of economy. The project helps in identifying mechanisms of innovation stuctures, processes and governance in firms.
