Looking for young participants to the National Youth Convention
All 15 to 29 year olds are naturally the experts in current youth
policy. Let´s tell the facts to the decision-makers.
Finnish Youth Cooperation - Allianssi organises the National Youth
Convention 16.-18.10.2010 in Helsinki in co-operation with the Centre
for International Mobility CIMO and the National Youth Advisory Board
Nuora. Last time the Convention was held in 2009. The Convention aims to
discuss current issues and to deepen the dialogue between the youth and
policy makers in the domestic and European affairs.
It is intended to hear young people's views and proposals for action on
the following subjects: education and training, employment and
entrepreneurship, health and welfare, community participation, human
rights and equality, exclusion, prevention and early intervention, youth
and the world as well as creativity in Finland.
The purpose is to review and assess the key youth policy documents, such
as the EU's youth strategy for 2010-18. High-quality speakers and
experts, including the Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi, parliamentarians,
researchers and party secretaries have been invited to speak in the event.

The application deadline is on Monday 20.09.2010. Convention is free for
participants and travel expenses are reimbursed according to the
cheapest means of transport. Also accommodation is provided for all
participants. The selected participants will be informed by e-mail on
Important: the working language at the Convention is Finnish, although
individual speakers are welcome to address the Convention in English or
Swedish. However all group work will be conducted in Finnish and
therefore moderate knowledge of the language is recommended.
