Finland among Europe’s leaders in innovation

When it comes to innovation, Finland is one of Europe’s four leading countries according to a European Commission Innovation Scoreboard. Innovation performance in Finland, Germany, Denmark and in the top-scoring country Sweden is well above the EU average.

Finland and Denmark both led among the most innovative countries for growth, while Denmark and Sweden ranked as slow growers. Finland’s strengths were listed as including funding and support as well as entrepreneurship.

The 2010 Innovation Scoreboard is based on 25 indicators related to research and innovation such as top-level and attractive research systems, funding and support as well as corporate investment.
