COURSE INFORMATION
Course code at UTA: YKYY001 (or SITRY001) | ECTS credits: 1 or 3

Objectives: The course is specially designed for international students who wish to know more about the Finnish Society and Culture. The main purpose is to introduce the students to the society and culture of contemporary Finland and to give them an idea of the development and cultural, political and economic background of one of the Nordic welfare states.
Content: Lectures by experts in the fields of e.g. Finnish History, Welfare State, Foreign Policy, Mass Media, Information Society, Technology, Innovations, Literature, Culture, Music, Art, Design, Environmental issues, Forestry, Business, and business branches especially in the Tampere Region.

Assessment and credits:
The EXAM will be organised at the end of the lecture series at UTA. The exam will be a multiple choice exam.
