The mission
of Entrepreneurship Summer University Concept is
to establish network on entrepreneurship research
and education, organise PhD Summer University conference
and offer publications for PhD education. By offering
an arena for such activities has an impact on the
quality of research, multicultural collaboration
between universities, professors and students.
Latest research in
entrepreneurship and education in Europe, USA and
Canada indicate that entrepreneurship education
has been growing dramatically over the past five
years and it is expected to continue growing. There
is a strong interest for research and research based
training at European and cross-Atlantic level. Therefore
it is important to collaborate in order to strengthen
networks on entrepreneurship research and education
for enhancing students to get involved with entrepreneurship
research and teaching.
The ESUCO conference
is open to the PhD students, their supervisors and
researchers. The main idea is to gather together
people with similar interests in the field of entrepreneurship
,research and education, share experiences and create
new international networks.
The ESUCO conference offers a unique opportunity
for PhD students to meet and create their own networks.
They can present their ideas in the international
scientific forum and work on their doctoral thesis
conjointly with the supervisors from all over the
world. In addition, the idea is to combine scientific
sessions and cultural events allowing people to
discover different regions host universities.

Supervisors,
researchers and students from international institutions
active in entrepreneurship research and education
shall come together and implement new ways to promote
entrepreneurial thinking and behaviour. Entrepreneurship
research represents a multi-scientific discipline
and at its best can have a long-term impact on several
sectors in a society.
The initiator of the Entrepreneurship
Summer University concept was French Government. One
form of networking is a bi-annual conference which
contains scientific research, publications and experience
exchange between European countries. The first European
summer university on entrepreneurship research was
launched in 2002 in France at Valence hosted by Professor
Alain Fayolle. The second summer university dedicated
to entrepreneurship research and education in Europe
was organised by the University of Twente in The Netherlands.
The third ESU in autumn 2006 will be organised in
Finland at the University of Tampere, School of Economics
and Business Administration dedicated to entrepreneurship
education, and the fourth conference in Norway in
2008. |
