Bio 

I have completed my MA thesis in Comparative Religion at University of Turku, my licentiate thesis in Social and Public Policy at University of Jyväskylä, and I finished at Åbo Akademi University my doctoral thesis Ageing Apparatuses at Work: Transdisciplinary Negotiations of Sex, Age and Materiality (Åbo Akademi University Press) in Women's Studies in 2010. I work as University Lecturer in Gender Studies at University of Tampere, Finland.

Sex Transformations as Side Effect: Anabolic Steroids, Ageing, and Sports Politics in Finland, 1950-1976 

Research interests

My earlier publications have focused on gay marriage debates in Finnish media, on the problematisation of the notion of ‘ageing’, and on gender, sexuality and ageing in working life. My current research projects concern the following:
