LabourNet's goal is to exchange, disseminate and develop theoretical, methodological and conceptual know-how via a systematic education and training program through collaboration with an international body of universities and research institutes. In our efforts to achieve this goal, we are continually developing our network-based education and the concept of a virtual university.
The outcomes of the labour and welfare studies have thus far had a strong impact on Finnish society. The application of findings born out of the work done by our researchers has led to social innovations in the fields of occupational health service, occupational health and safety and also in the legal regulation of employment. The economic and social efficiency of societies have been, and continue to be strongly promoted and supported through our studies on labour and labour markets and social policy systems.
In future we aim to make an even greater impact in the aforementioned fields as well as on more sociological issues and on issues relating to working life.
