Requirements for Doctoral Studies 

You will find the instructions and orders concerning Licentiate's Thesis, Doctoral Dissertation and studies, from admission on to applying a degree certificate in this website through the navigation links on the left. These regulations came into effect on August 1st, 2012. It is recommended to visit these web pages especially when the student is planning to hand in the manuscript of the thesis or of the dissertation to the examination process.

Regulations and Guidelines on Research Ethics

The regulations concerning the degrees of the School and other rules concerning the completion of degrees are available in the School Office. The Government Decree on University Degrees is available online http://www.finlex.fi/en/laki/kaannokset/2004/en20040794.pdf.

The University governing board has approved the guidelines concerning good scientific practise and procedures for handling misconduct and fraud in science. These guidelines are proposed by the National Advisory Board on Research Ethics which is nominated by the Ministry of Education.
