Welcome to the School of Social Sciences and Humanities!
Relationships between society and the individual are at the centre of study and research in the School of Social Science and Humanities. The new School, founded at the beginning of 2011, combines the University’s strong research tradition in Social Sciences with Humanities.
The School offers degrees (Bachelor, Master, Licentiate, Doctor) in Social Sciences, Humanities and Psychology. After a multidisciplinary education, students graduate to work in various positions both in the public and private sectors. Master’s degrees in Psychology, Social Work and Logopedics give graduates the professional qualification required by Finnish law. Read more.

The application period is from 2 April to 30 April 2013 at 3.45 p.m. (Finnish time) by which the applications must have reached the appropriate School - Finnish Anthropology Conference 2013: Culture, creativity and performativity 16th -17th of May 2013 (25.3.2013)
The Conference 2013 looks at the multiple dimensions of creativity and performativity, as well as at their global connections. Keynote speakers are Tim Ingold, Steven Feld, and Jocelyne Guilbault - LabourNet's winter seminar: "Labour Mobility in the European North" at the university of Lapland 11-12.4.2013 (20.3.2013)
