Established on 1.1.1999 the Finnish Doctoral Programme of History is a joint initiative of all Finnish University Institutions for historical research. The aim of the Programme is to arrange and promote doctoral studies in history in Finland by creating a network of doctoral students, organising conferences, amending travel fees for international conferences and workshops and providing information on doctoral studies, research funding and postgraduate mobility in Finland and abroad. In these pages you can find information on the Programme's current activities (in Finnish) as well as the Programme's annual conferences since 1999.
The Programme is run by an executive Board that comprises representation of all the history institutions taking part in the Finnish Doctoral Programme of History. The quotidian activities of the Programme are taken care by the Head of the Programme Professor Pertti Haapala and coordinator Tapio Salminen. The home institution of the Programme is School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Tampere.
