TIPSY is the student association which represents the students of the Master’s Degree Programme in Peace, Mediation, and Conflict Research at the University of Tampere.
As the student association for the “Peace” Master’s Degree students we aim to represent the academic interests of the students while working in conjunction with the staff of the Tampere Peace Research Institute (TAPRI). We work through such channels as steering committee membership and the attendance of quality control meetings to improve the programme.
Additionally, we represent the social interests of the students by organizing social and study-related events and trips that both bring together students of the Peace programme as well as students from other Master’s Degree Programmes and other student associations. We also organise an annual academic Peace Conference, where students can present their research and debate issues related to peace and conflict.
TIPSY holds regular (usually bi-monthly) meetings to update all members on the ongoing work by the TIPSY board regarding academic affairs and social events. Though TIPSY primarily represents the Peace students, membership is open to everybody who is interested.
