2016

  • Youth Transition to Adulthood mini-conference day is organized by the SOS04.2 Youth Transition to Adulthood course in collaboration with PERLA on April 18th, 2016. An international group of students will present their work based on small research projects conducted for the course. The presentations will reflect upon a variety of aspects linked to transitions to adulthood in different countries. Programme

  • PERLA organizes an international research seminar on young people, networks and transitions in co-operation with the research groups Gender Equality and Quality of Life (GEQ), Bridging the Gaps Together, Oma Group and Digital Youth in Media City on April 6th, 2016. Programme

  • PERLA organizes on March 11th, 2016 in collaboration with the VAMLAS foundation and the Space and Political Agency Research Group (SPARG) an open research seminar focusing on the everyday life in families with children with disabilities as well as on the professional work with these families. Programme

2015

  • The educational center of the Therapeia Foundation organizes a seminar in collaboration with PERLA. The seminar focuses on the challenges posed by media in families with children and is organised in Hotel Arthur in Helsinki on 6th November 2015.

  • PERLA is taking part in the Methods Festival on 19th and 20th August 2015 by organizing a session on children.

  • PERLA organizes a seminar on child protection in collaboration with the National Institute for Health and Welfare on 12th June 2015. The seminar discusses the research and development strategy regarding child protection and relevant topics.

  • PERLA celebrates the publication of the book Media in Families with Children by organizing a seminar on media, children and family interaction on 26th March 2015.


2014

  • Meeting of rainbow families at the University of Tampere on 3rd December 2014
    Educational event for students and people working with children and families in the area of Tampere. The event is free of charge. Programme

  • Youthful Citizenship: Institutional Settings, Mundane Processes 18.9.2014 University of Tampere
    Multi-disciplinary workshop organized in collaboration with the Space and Political Agency Research Group (SPARG), with Bronwyn Wood from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand/Norwegian School of Theology in Oslo as an international quest. Full program.

  • Researching childhood, youth and family 5.5.2014 University of Tampere. An open seminar and discussion panel on the needs for future research and co-operation.

The seminar began with Dr. Debbie Watson's (The University of Bristol, UK) presentation on new innovative research methods in child- and youth research. This was followed by a panel on current needs for further research on the fields of childhood, youth and family and opportunities for co-operation between different societal agents. Among the panelists were both experts and officials from multiple professions and academic disciplines; both creators of cutting-edge academic knowledge and those who apply it in their work were thus represented.   • PERLA organises a thesis seminar in collaboration with the Finnish Youth Research Network

PERLA, the Youth Research Network and the discipline of youth work and youth research of the University of Tampere organize an open thesis seminar for master’s students on Wednesday 11th February 2014 from 10am to 4pm in Linna 5101. The seminar is for students of all disciplines planning to do a thesis on youth or young people. More information
