Crises in the Lives of Fathers
The research project Crises in the lives of fathers focuses on the life of fathers who have faced dramatic challenges and crises in their lives. The focus of the research lies on the narratives produced by men from various age and social groups and life situations. Two interview data sets have been conducted for the project. The first set includes interviews of fathers participating in the support programs of the Finnish child welfare NGO Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters. The second set contains interviews of fathers who were serving a prison sentence. The research is carried out in collaboration with the University of Jyväskylä, University of Tampere, the Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters and the participating prisons.
