from January 18th to April 12th, 2017
On Wednesdays 16.00–17.30, Sampolan työväenopisto
Main Auditorium, Sammonkatu 2
Teacher responsible: Katja Repo
The lecture series is part of the programme for the centenary of Finland’s independence in 2017. The main focus of the series is on Finnish childhood, youth and family, all of which will be approached from a multitude of perspectives and examined within diverse themes and social contexts. Rather than focusing on a single time period, the lectures will consider Finnish childhood, youth and family in the light of past events, today’s challenges as well as future visions. The lectures will offer a window into the everyday life of Finnish families while also looking at the development of Finnish society.
The lecturers will represent a wide array of scientific disciplines. More detailed information on the lectures will be available later in spring 2016. The lecture series will be organized in collaboration between Tampere Centre for Childhood, Youth and Family Research at the University of Tampere (PERLA), The City of Tampere and Tampereen seudun työväenopisto.
