Frank Furedi

Emeritus professor of sociology, University of Kent, UK

Professor Furedi is sociologist and active commentator. He is the most cited social scientist in UK media.

Furedi’s research is oriented towards the study of the workings of precautionary culture and risk aversion in Western societies. He has explored controversies and panics over issues such as health, children, food, new technology and terrorism.

Furedi's most well known books are: Authority (2013), On Tolerance: In Defence of Moral Independence (2011)  Wasted: Why Education Isn't Educating (2009), Invitation to Terror (2007), Therapy Culture (2003), Paranoid Parenting (2001) and Culture of Fear (1997). Read more...

Federico Rossano

Post-doctoral Resercher, Max Planck Institute for evolutionary antropology, GER

Rossano's research explores evolutionary continuity between human and non-human primates in terms of social relations, social cognition and communication behavior. He has studied joint action, ownership and sequential organization of talk and visible behaviour.

Rossano's reserch articles have been published in journals such as Animal Cognition, Research on Language and Social Interaction, Psychological Science and Journal of Pragmatics. Read more...

Elizabeth Stokoe

Professor of Social interaction, Loughborough University, UK

Professor Stokoe is one of the most center figures in today's social pcychology. She has won Social Impact Enterprise Award (2013) and British Psychological Society Social Psychology Section's Mid-Career Award (2011) to recognize her significant contributions to social psychology.

Stokoe is recognized for developing and applying results of interaction studies. She has created Conversation Analytic Role Play (CARM©) method, which has been widely adapted to train communication skills in institutional encounters. 

Stokoe Co-edits British Journal of Social Psychology and Gender and Language. She has published books Conversation and gender (2011 with Susan Speer) and Discourse and identity (2006 with Bethan Benwell ). Read more...
