Position: Project manager
Nordling works as a project manager for the ERDF-funded project Campusbased competence building for social welfare and healthcare services (2018-2020). The project aims to create a new research, development and innovation ecosystem concerning the social welfare and healthcare service reform in Soth Ostrobothnia, Pirkanmaa and Satakunta regions in Finland. Previously she has gained experience on innovation ecosystems, collaborative and participatory development and co-creation working as a project specialist in the 6Cities development program (ERDF, 2015-2018), which aimed to create new business, know-how and jobs in Finland. The project was designed as a bottom-up development approach, where new models to include more stakeholders to development and innovation activities were designed.
Nordling´s dissertation (2014 onwards) concerns regional economic development taking on an ecosystem-based view on innovation policy and exploring the formulation, design and implementation of innovation policies. The focus is on the development of innovation ecosystems as engines of regional economic renewal. Nordling´s research takes a participatory action research (PAR) approach to investigate the tenability of ecosystem incubation policies as a means to achieve goals of openness and inclusivity, and reach broad social and economic transformation.
She has also worked as conference secretary of international Ph.D. school on innovation and development (Globelics Academy) in 2013, 2015 and 2017 taking care of the practicalities of the academy and being part of the student selection board together with the TaSTI organizing team.
