Methods Festival 30-31 August 2011 at the University of Tampere

The second Methods Festival in Finland will be arranged at the University of Tampere on 30 - 31 August 2011. The Festival is organized by the Institute for Advanced Social Research and the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Tampere through University Alliance co-operation with the University of Jyväskylä and Tampere University of Technology.

The Festival brings together international and national experts across a wide range of disciplines to raise issues and discuss current topics and themes in research methodology. The two-day Festival aims at engaging researchers, doctoral students and methodology teachers alike to develop their skills and knowledge. Furthermore, it provides opportunities for joint discussion and debate. There is also some pre-festival courses available (for the participants from the alliance universities).

Most of the sessions will take place in Finnish language but there will be also sessions in English. The Festival takes place at the main campus area of the University of Tampere (see map).

The first ever Methods Festival in Finland was held at the University of Jyväskylä on year 2009. Link to the web pages of the event.
