In the ceremonial conferment of doctoral degrees organised by the University of Tampere on Friday, doctors received their hats in Tampere Hall. In addition, the title of honorary doctor was conferred on fifteen distinguished persons.

From Tampere Hall, the doctors walked in a ceremonial procession to Tampere Cathedral. After the service, the evening continued with a banquet organised at Tampere Hall and a ball at the old City Hall.
