UTA succeeded in an international ranking of medicine

The University of Tampere did well in the recent ranking of the Times Higher Education magazine (THE) on medicine, clinical medicine and health research.

In this latest ranking, UTA was the second best Finnish university ranked in places 201–250. The best Finnish university was the University of Helsinki which came in places 101–125.

THE ranking is based on five pillars. The areas where UTA did the best are the volume of citations and industry income, which measures the amount of external funding. In the latter category, UTA was the best Finnish university.

In this ranking, the world’s best universities were the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. The third was the University of Harvard in the United States.

This year, 500 universities from around the world were included in the ranking.
