Minister of Finance Petteri Orpo has invited Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, Director of Tampere3 Renewal and Professor of Practice in the Faculty of Management at the University of Tampere, to take up a new appointment as State Secretary to the National Coalition Party. Ikonen will begin her new role on 10 April 2018. She will step down from the position as Director of Tampere3 Renewal but continue serving as Professor of Practice in the Faculty of Management on a part-time basis.
”I want to thank the entire higher education community for their collaboration. Tampere3 has afforded me an excellent opportunity to take part in the creation of the new university,” Ikonen says.
Chair of the transitional Board of the new Tampere University Marja Makarow congratulates Ikonen for her appointment to a nationally significant position.
PhD Marianne Kukko, who left her position as Tampere3 Project Director in late January to set up her own company, will return to head the Tampere3 project on a part-time basis. Kukko will continue Ikonen’s work from early April onwards until the President of the new Tampere University takes up their position.
Ilkka Haukijärvi continues as the Director of Project Development in the Tampere3 renewal.
”This ensures the seamless continuation of the Board’s operations,” states Makarow.
